Weeds survive everything — herbicides, floods, you name it. At Rothamsted Research, we’re using cutting-edge science to find out why. From gene studies to lab experiments, we’re digging into what makes weeds like blackgrass so tough — and using that knowledge to both outsmart them and protect future crops.

Expect some genetics, plenty of metaphor, a bit of audience participation — and absolutely no need for a biology degree.
