Our global partnerships are based on complementary scientific excellence, strategic relevance, potential for impact and the availability of substantive opportunities for funding and co-investment to support activities on both sides.

GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS

We collaborate in multiple countries, but focus our institutional effort in those regions where there is highest potential to co-develop and deliver excellent science with the greatest potential for impact.

INDIA

Current activities include the development of new varieties of direct seeded rice in partnership with the Punjab Agricultural Univeristy and the Interanationl Rice Research Institute.

BRAZIL

We collaborate widely with Embrapa under the Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture (ASA) and with numerous universities across Brazil.

AFRICA

Established in 2019 as a partnership between Rothamsted, the Moroccan University UM6P, Cranfield University and the fertilizer company OCP, Sustainable Agriculture for Africa (SAFA) is a new initiative to train the next generation of African agricultural scientists.

Rothamsted INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP SCHEME

The Rothamsted International Fellowship Scheme supports early-mid career scientists from developing countries to train for 6-12 months on a project they co-develop with a Rothamsted supervisor.
